Gymnastics to Re open on Monday 11th October!!

As many of you are now aware, Gymnastics (which has been classified is indoor Recreation in the public health order) can open on Monday 11th October as Double dose vaccinations across NSW pass 70% in Adults (16 years and up).

All Parents must re-enrol their children to start back by completing a very quick 15 second web form, located at the end of this email.

We are super excited, but we do have some guidelines we have to adhere to listed below. For a full list of our COVID control measures, you can visit our COVID 19 webpage here.

Vaccination Requirements

Under the Public Health Order, all over 16’s must be fully vaccinated to enter the Gym, while athletes under 16 years of age can only attend provided both Parents are fully vaccinated. This is under the public health order until the 1st December.

We highly recommend all gymnasts aged 12 and over book in for vaccination as it is highly likely that this will be mandated in the future, and waiting until it is mandated will mean that you will have to sit out training under double vaccinated.

In addition, it is highly likely that Gym NSW will make it compulsory for all competitions.

What if you are waiting on your vaccination date?

You cannot bring your child to Gym until both Parents are fully vaccinated, however we will hold your child’s spot in their class until you are. Just send us a quick email to let us know when you will be coming back. After receiving your 2nd dose, complete the COVID-19 Re enrolment form on our website to confirm your vaccination, and your child can start back that same day!

Masks for 12 years and over

All athletes 12 years and older will need to wear a mask inside the building while waiting for class to start, and when not undergoing physical activity. Staff will be wearing masks at all times.

No Parents will be permitted in the Gym

Purely kiss and drop except for one parent of First timers,  and one caregiver per Kindergym participant.

Staggered breaks for squad athletes and Kindy Kids

We will space out breaks to keep each group in their own “bubble”

If unwell, stay at home!

Please do not bring your child to gym if they feel even the slightest bit unwell, of have any symptoms. Get tested and stay at home until you receive a negative result and follow the guidelines of the public Health orders. Any gymnasts who do will be isolated and sent home immediately.

Consistent Squads and No Makeup lessons

Our advice from medical professionals who have been working with Gymnastics Australia is that each squad or training group should be kept together, essentially isolating themselves from athletes in other squads. For this reason, Gymnasts will not be able to switch from their squad or class to another, and we will be unable to provide makeup lessons. Once we are advised otherwise, we will of course revert back to our standard policies regarding make up lessons, class changes etc

Cleaning of the Gym

Our gym will be disinfected twice daily, and all high touch surfaces will be cleaned between classes and apparatus rotations for squads.

Contact tracing

Any person entering the premises must scan in with the service NSW App.

Our staff are Vaccinated

All staff at Carmel & Co Gymnastics are fully vaccinated.

What next

If both Parents are double vaccinated, then visit the COVID 19 Re enrolment page on our website, and you’ll be good to go on October 11th. Please DO NOT JUST SHOW UP. We have staff to organise, rotations and scheduling to organise.
