At Carmel & Co Gymnastics, we are deeply committed to the safety, wellbeing, and empowerment of all children and young people accessing our programs and services. Carmel & Co Gymnastics promotes and maintains a culture that does not tolerate child abuse, neglect, or exploitation.

We support the Child’s rights and will act to ensure an environment is maintained where all participants feel safe, respected, valued, and empowered.

We are committed to providing our employees with child safe training on an ongoing basis and we welcome the input from Parent’s and Families to help us in continual improvement in issues of Child Safety.

Carmel & Co Gymnastics embrace the 10 National Principles for Child Safe Organisations, and have a Child Safe policy that reflects our commitment. Our Child Safety Systems compliment Gymnastics Australia’s Child Safeguarding and Member Protection Policies. Our Child Safety documents can be found below and are available from reception.

Child Safety & Wellbeing Policy

Child Safe Staff Code of Conduct

All of Carmel & Co staff adhere to professional and ethical behavior to ensure children feel safe and respected.

Child Safe Complaints Handling Policy

Carmel & Co are committed to making children and young people feel safe, respected and supported when raising concerns or disclosing issues around the safety and wellbeing of Children and young people.  This policy is not about complaints regarding fees, selections etc.

Child Safe Risk Management Plan

Carmel & Co aim to identify any risks to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people and put protective strategies in place to prevent any harm from occurring.

GA Child Safeguarding Policy

This policy is Gymnastics Australia’s proactive and preventative approach to child safety, wellbeing and empowerment. It forms part of GA’s National Integrity Framework.

GA Member Protection Policy

This policy outlines a person’s right to participate in a sport free from harassment, discrimination and abuse where respect and dignity are upheld.
