About the Recreational Program

This is a great starting place for the beginner gymnast aged 5yrs & up. Recreational gymnastics is divided into Junior and Senior Programs so that children are working at a challenging level in a program that best suits their age and ability level.

Recreational gymnastics has been the starting point for most of our high level and elite competitors over the last 25 years!

What to expect after your child’s trial lesson

You will receive an invoice from us the day after your child’s first lesson. If they enjoyed the class you can pay the remaining invoice online via our website and they will be booked in to that class for the remainder of the term! If you decide the class wasn’t right for your child, please let us know and we will delete the invoice from our system.

What are Recreational Grading Days?

Our Grading Days are an opportunity for parents to see some of the skills the gymnasts have been working on throughout the term and also for Senior coaches to identify those who are excelling. The gymnasts are banded from Bronze—Gold band. If a gymnast receives a gold band they will be offered a spot in one of our Gym Skills Junior or Senior 2 hour classes where they will begin learning level 1 and 2 routines to compete in house. This is the start of the competitive Gymnastics pathway in Australia.

Gymnastics Skills your child will learn:

• Handstand
• Cartwheel

Body & Developmental skills assisted:

• Balance
• Core stability
• Upper body strength
• Flexibility

You can also book in for a trial lesson below! Recreational Classes are held during school terms as follows:

Recreational classes cost $22.00 for the hour and fees are paid by the term along with an annual registration fee of $95 for new members. (please see our Policies Section for more information)
