Women’s Artistic Gymnastics is comprised of four apparatus which female gymnasts use to execute routines. The four apparatus are vault, uneven bars, beam and floor exercise. Performances display grace, strength, flexibility, rhythm and expression. Our program caters for girls 5 years and over who wish to get involved in the competitive side of gymnastics. We currently have gymnasts training in Women’s Competitive Gymnastics national and elite levels.

At Carmel & Co, we encourage team work and good sportsmanship. We help every gymnast to reach their potential through hard work and discipline (although we do have loads of fun too!) Our Women’s Competitive Gymnastics program has a proud history and the girls continue to win medals and trophies at state and national championships.

To enter the Women’s Competitive Gymnastics levels program, our coaches must first assess the gymnast to ensure some minimum benchmarks are met. As children develop their gymnastics skills and routines, they will progress through the national levels system from level 1 to 10 (or elite levels system for the especially dedicated and talented).

Initially, levels gymnasts will train for 2 or 3 hours, one night per week. As they progress through the national levels, additional hours of training will be required to perfect the higher level skills required. Gymnasts will learn the importance of conditioning, strength and flexibility work, which needs to be developed to obtain certain gymnastics skills. The level at which the gymnast trains will determine the nights the gymnast needs to attend.

Women’s Competitive Gymnastics training sessions are from 4:30pm – 7:30pm (3 hour session) or 4:00pm – 8:00pm (4 hour session) every night of the week.
