Women's Gymnastics Summer Athlete Clinic & Dance/Acro Clinic are on again!

Friday, November 04, 2011

Once again, we'll be holding our Women's Gymnastics Athlete and Dance/Acro clinics in the Summer School holidays.
The Women's Gymnastics Athlete Clinic will be held on Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th January at Carmel & Co Gymnasium. We are luck enough to have Stacey Umeh, Xiaoqing Li, Ming Lu and Carmel Blades running the clinic. Not only is it a great opportunity for Women's Gymnastics level 3 - 10 NDP Gymnasts, and IDP Gymnasts to work with some great coaches, but also a good opportunity for other coaches to learn something also.
Individual Athlete registration forms are available here. If your club is interested in attending, please email andrew@carmelandcogymnastics.com.au for a club registration form.
Our Dance/Acro clinic has been very popular with the dancers. Stacey Umeh will be working on leaps & turns among other things, and Carmel Blades will be working aerial skills.

Registration forms, with additional information, are available here. Numbers are limited, so don't miss out.

Monday, October 24, 2011
Congratulations to Emmy Withers, Jorja Rogers, Miranda Blades and Samara Cox who did exceptionally well at the IDP Gala Comp held at Westfields Sports High on Saturday 22nd October.

The girls represented the club in IDP level 1, and finished the teams event in 3rd place all around, with a 1st place on Vault, and 3rd places on Beam, Bars and Floor.
The teams event adds together the top three scores of the team on each apparatus, and then adds those apparatus scores together to get the “all around” team scores.
The difference between the top three team scores was extremely tight, with the top two teams finishing on 176.850 and 176.450, and our girls coming in at 173.200
