AASCF State Championships

The AASCF (Australian All Star Cheer Federation) held their NSW State Championships at Sydney Olympic Park on the 8th & 9th September.

Our Cheer squads were out in force, and had some pretty good results as we head into National Championships next Month. Some of the highlights include:

  • Chickapow finishing 4th in Level 1 Junior Group Stunt,
  • Mysterious Strangers came 1st in Level 2 Youth Group Stunt,
  • Titanium were 4th in Level 2 Senior Group Stunt,
  • Miranda & Jasmine came 2nd in Level 2 Teen Partner Stunt,
  • Taylah & AJ were 1st in their Level 3 Teen Partner Stunt,
  • Diamonds finished 1st in Level 3 Senior Cheer.

A fantastic job by all and good luck at Nationals!!

Awards for Tricia & Michael at the NSW Gymnastics Awards Dinner

Congratulations to Coach Tricia O'Connell and Gymnast Michael Tonegato who both took out awards for their accomplishments in 2011.

    Tricia recieved the prestigious title of 2011 MAG levels Coach of the year after an outstanding 2011 for her Gymnasts in both State and National Championships

    Michael Tonegato was the recipient of the 2011 MAG Senior Gymnast of the Year Award. A great acknowledgement after any outstanding competitive season in 2011. Well done Tricia & Michael!

2012 National Championships results!

Congratulations to our NSW representatives who have been competiing at the 2012 Australian National Championships in Sydney over the last 2 weeks.

In Women's IDP level 8, Kayleigh Falconer finished with a 5th place on vault with the 2 days combined scores in an extremely competitive division. 

 

 

 

 

 

In the Mens Senior International competition, Jack Doyle and Michael Tonegato did well with the NSW team to come in 3rd place. Jack Doyle had some great individual performances with 3rd on Vault, and 5th on Floor.

AJ Lovatt finished 7th All Around in level 9 open with a swag of medals after taking 2nd on floor and rings, 3rd on high bar, and 4th on P-Bars! In level 8 open, Hugh Gabor also took 7th place All Around with 6th place on both pommel and vault. Once again, a fantastic effort! Great results at 2012 State Championships!

We had some great results for our Gymnasts over the weekend at the2012 Women's Gymnastics IDP State Championships, and also the Men's Gymnastics Level 7 to Snr State Championships, which were held at Sydney Olympic Park.

In IDP 1, Molly Jewiss, Adel Ryall & Olivia Falconer all performed well for their first ever State Championships. The IDP 1 team came 5th, with Olivia placing 2nd on Vault.
In IDP 2, Emmy Withers, Miranda Blades, Samara Cox & Jorja Rogers did well to bring our team home in 4th place, with outstanding individual performances from Emmy, with 5th on Floor, and Jorja 4th on Bar.

In IDP 5, Kalila Stanley earned silver on Vault, while in IDP 6, Kaitlin Lloyd finished 6th All Around with 5th on Vault, and 4th on Bars with borrowed grips!
In IDP 8, Kayleigh Falconer earned the title of 2012 State Champion with 1st place all around with 1st place on Beam, Bars & Floor, and 2nd on Vault. Full results are available from the Gym NSW website.

In the Men’s arena, highlights included Hugh Gabor’s Gold all around in level 8 open with 1st on Bar, 2nd on Vault & P-Bar, 3rd on Rings, and 5th on Pommel & Floor.

In the Senior Category, team mates Jack Doyle and Michael Tonegato finished with the Senior Team Champions Trophy after great individual performances. Jack finished 3rd All Around with 2nd on P-Bars, 3rd on Floor, Vault & Bar, 4th on Pommel, and 6th on Rings. Michael finished 4th All Around with 4th non Bar, P-Bars, Floor & Vault, 5th on Rings and 6th on Pommel.

Hugh & Charlie Gabor recieve Berrima District Sports Awards!

Well done to Hugh and Charlie Gabor. Both boys, who represent Carmel & Co Gymnastics in Men's Gymnastics, recieved the Berrima District Junior Sportsman awards for their efforts in 2011. Charlie for his performance at Country Championships, and Hugh for his acheivements at Nationals. Congrats!

Women's Gymnastics IDP State Trials

Congratulations to our girls who competed in State Trials at Westfields on 10th and 11th March.
In IDP 1, Molly Jewiss, Olivia Falconer and Adel Ryall all did well with the highlight being Olivia’s 5th Place on Vault.In IDP 2, Jorja Rogers, Emmy Withers, Miranda Blades and Samara Cox all represented well, with Emmy picking up 6th Place on Vault.
Jemima Clarke (IDP3), Kalila Stanley (IDP5) and Kaitlin Lloyd (IDP6) did well with Kalila placing 4th on Vault, and Kaitlin 6th on Vault and Floor.
In IDP 8, Kayleigh Falconer took out First place all around with gold on vault, Floor and Beam. Kayleigh has now qualified for National Championships.

Great Results for our boys at State Trial 1!

The first qualifier for the year for our boys in the Level 6 - Senior State Trial 1 was a great success. In level 7 open, Robert Fassone finished 10th All Around, with a 5th on Rings and High Bar.
In 8 Open, Hugh Gabor finished 2nd All Around, with 2nd placing on P-Bar and High Bar, 3rd on Vault, Pommel and Floor, and a 4th place on Rings.
In Level 10 U/18, AJ Lovatt finished 1st All Around, while in the Senior division, Team mates Jack Doyle and Michael Tonegato battled it out.
Michael finished 3rd All Around with 3rd on High Bar, P-Bar and Rings, with a 5th on Vault and Pommel.
Jack came in at 4th All Around with 2nd place on Vault and Floor, 4th on High Bar and P-Bar, and 5th on Rings.

Well done to our IDP Gymnasts who gained selection on to the NSW Gold, Silver and Bronze Squads for 2012. The girls will train at several clinics throughout the year with some of Australia's best coaches.
