Cheer State Championships Results

Our Cheer Squads had a very successful outing at the Australian All Star Cheer Federation State Championships held at Sydney Olympic Park over the 6th, 7th and 8th of September.

In day 1 of this huge event, Titanium Group Stunt took 2nd place, with the Vigilante Squad finishing in 3rd. Level 1 Partner Stunt combination Kaydin & Chloe took 1st in Level 1, while Miranda & Zac took 3rd in Level 2, with AJ & Tayla taking 1st in Level 3! Outstanding effort which will see all 3 Partner Stunt groups through to Nationals in Melbourne later this year.

On Day 2, the Dolphins Pom Squad finished 5th, with Hip Hop Duo Miranda & Tayla finished 1st in their Division, and Hip Hop Seniors Gabby & Emma taking 2nd Overall in theirs. Miki and Caitlyn took out 3rd in the Jazz Duo section of the competition.

On the final day, both Cheer Squads qualified for Nationals with Dolphins finishing 2nd, and Infinity Cheer Squad taking 1st!

A big congratulations to Level 9 Open Gymnast Hugh Gabor.

Men's Gymnastics has now concluded at the 2013 Australian National Gymnastics Championships, and our own Hugh Gabor emerged in 3rd Place All Around, with some impressive performances across every apparatus:

  • 1st on Vault
  • 2nd on Pommel
  • 5th on Floor and P-Bars
  • 6th on Rings
  • 8th on High Bar

Aussie Gold 2013 Results

    Our Cheer Squads had a very successful time travelling north to the Sunshine State!

    Cheer, Pom, Group Stunt, Partner stunt and Cheer solo competitors all competed in the Aussie Gold Cheer & Dance Championships at the Gold Coast Convention Centre over the massive 3 day event from the 5th - 7th July. This annual event attracted over 1000 competitors from all over Australia, and Internationally. Besides the actual Cheer competition, our squads also attended a stunt camp with specialists from the USA, and of course the Dreamworld trip!

    Highlights from the event are:

    In Pom & Cheer:

  • Infinity Cheer Squad finished 1st place in the Level 3 Division
  • Dolphins Cheer Squad came in 2nd place in Level 2
  • Diamonds Open Pom Squad managed 6th place against a huge field of Dance schools

    In Group Stunt:

  • Chicka Pow 1st Place in Junior Level 1
  • Rebels 3rd Place in Open Level 3
  •  Tornadoes 1st Place in Junior Level 3
  • Titanium 2nd Place in Senior Level 2

In Partner Stunt & Cheer Solos:

  •  Miranda & Zac 1st Place in Level 2 Partner Stunt
  •  Tayla & AJ 1st Place in Level 3 Partner Stunt
  •  Miranda 1st Place in Junior Cheer Solo
  • Gabby 1st in Senior Cheer Solo
  •  Emma 2nd in Senior Cheer Solo
  •  Miki 2nd place in Open Cheer Solo

    A big thankyou to all of our Judges, Coaches, Volunteers, Gymnasts and their Parents for making our Invitational Competition such a great success!

    The event was held over Saturday 1st June, and Sunday 2nd June. We had 200 Gymnasts competing from 13 Clubs including:

    It was great to see so many little ones in there first competition ever along with the more seasoned competitors on Sunday afternoon! Well done girls!

State Championships Results

    State Championships is over for another year, and the 2013 saw some great results for our club. Some of the Highlights in Men's Gymnastics include:

  • In Level 7 Open, Robert Fassone finished 15th All Around
  • Level 9 Open Gymnast Hugh Gabor finished 1st All around with Gold on Pommel, Vault & P-Bars, Silver on Floor & Rings, and Bronze on High Bar
  • In Level 10 U/18, AJ Lovatt came in 3rd Place All around.

    In Women's IDP Gymnastics, our juniors achieved some great results also. Particularly for those who were competing in their first State Championships ever!

  • IDP 1 Gymnasts Abby Scolamiero and Naomi Gibson finished in the Silver Division, with Charli Carriage, Hana Lee, Koffi Brookfield and Sienna Goodfellow coming in Bronze.

  • IDP 2 Gymnasts Adel Ryall, Molly Jewiss, Olivia Falconer and Shiira De-Horta also had a great comp. Olivia and Adel finished in the Gold section, with Molly and Shiira in the silver section.

  • IDP 3 Gymnast Emmy Withers finished in the Gold Division, while Miranda Blades finished in Silver.
  • IDP 5 Gymnast Jemima Clarke came in 13th Place All Around, with a 6th placing on Vault.
  • Kalila Stanley finished in 12th Place All Around.

IDP State Trials

Congratualtions to our Gymnasts who competed in NSW State Trials on Sunday 28/4/13.

In IDP Level 1, we had Koffi Brookfield, Naomi Gibson, Sienna Goodfellow, Hana Lee, Charli carriage and Abby Scolamiero represt with an outstanding effort in there 1st competition ever.

In IDP Level 2, Adel Ryall, Molly Jewiss, Shiira De Horta and Olivia Falconer perform very well indeed. Olivia was one of only 3 Gymnasts to finish in the top all around banding. Also competing at the same time ,IDP 3 Gymnasts Miranda Blades and Emmy Withers did well, with Emmy the only Gymnast finishing in the top band.

 

Our older Squad of Girls Jemima Clarke, Kalila Stanley, Kaitlin Lloyd and Kayleigh Falconer also competed well in a very tough field, and will all go on to NSW State Championships in three weeks time.

IDEAL Testing for our little IDP Gymnasts!

    Our IDP 1, 2 and 3 Gymnasts made the trip to Sydney Olympic Park Gymnastics on Sunday 7th April to undergo IDEAL Skills testing.

 

    IDEAL testing involves taking the gymnasts through a range of skills across Beam, Bars, Floor, Vault and Trampoline, where they are scored for each skill performed. The results are used in a long term database that will track the gymnasts progression over their Gymnastics career. Once the gymnast progresses past IDP3, the results are then handed over to, and monitored by, the junior National Development coach, Jo Richards.

Five of our Girls selcected for NSW Elite Bronze Squad!

    The 2013 NSW Bronze squad members were announced today, with five of our girls gaining selection. Molly Jewiss, Adel Ryall, Olivia Falconer, Miranda Blades and Koffi Brookfield will all participate in squad training clinics throughout the year with some of the best Elite coaches in the country. Congratulations Girls!

     

NSW Gold and Silver Squads are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Hugh wins Berrima District Junior Sportsman of the Year Award!

    Congratulations to Hugh Gabor who won the Berrima District Junior Sportsman of the year award for 2012. Hugh had a very successful year at the Australian National Championships, and also internationally as part of the Australian Team in the Trans Tasman Challenge.

    Hugh's sister Lucy, and younger brother Charlie also recieved awards at prestigious event. Nice work!

Cheerleading Choreography Days on 1st to 3rd February

With the silly season behind us, it's time to get prepared for 2013!

The Cheer routines for our Dolphins and Infinity Cheer squads are being put together by International Cheer Choreographer Toni Wright. She'll be coming to our Gym on Friday 1st February until Sunday 3rd February to nut out the routines for 2013 competitive season!

Prior to then however, we'll be holding a Holiday training session on Wednesday 23rd January to get back into the swing of things!
